Job Hunt in UAE

I have decided to write about my experience in UAE ,while my job here, especially and only in dubai, whose short form,"DXB" is more attractive than its every thing..
More or less of my networked frnds use to enquire :
  • "Zeeshan bahi agar UaE ,visit visa per aya jaye tou kia mje job mil jaye gi "..
  • Zeeshan yaar kia halaat hain dubai k,koi job shob ka scene ban sakta hy ...
  • yaar itna b tu ab ameer zada nahi hua k hamary message ka reply hi na kary, thik tuje job mil gai hy ab meri b job ka bandobast kar raha ,a raha hoon main b..
  • oyeeee kab ana hy tu ne wapis, aty huye mere liye offer letter lety ana apni company se
These were the same lines that i use to ask my frnds who were already here before my "Tashreef Awari"some time got replied but usually not...bt i did not repeated the history because i can imagine the frustration of jobless when he/she has distinctive qualification and some other value added things are, from Papa o janab bus ho gai hy hamari tume parha parha ker,ab kch tu b kar hamry liye..

From Ami Jaan,Puter teri behn ki shadi b karny hy ab,choty bahi k uni main admission b karwana hy,kch kar beta, koi job dhoond..

From Sister:Bahi ab or kitni baar ami k pesy nikaal ker dety rahoo gi tumy

from News Paper Hawker:o Jawana har sunday ko 6 paper leta hy,job tuje milni nahi ,mere tou pesy de dey,

From Chacha Generl Store :o mundeya !! easy load, gold leaf, pespsi, bohat bill ho gaya hy,tere abu ko overload karo is se phly chuka dey sary ka sara..

These are the just examples but the feelings are except them..

of course i will give you some tips and hints for job hunting in UAE and gulf and will share some good resouces also bt abi mje cooking karni hy raat k kahany k liye so will come up for more lines on this, this was opening of show :)

Second Session :

Sorry could not come up yesterday because of two reasons, one i was busy in laundary and cooking and then one my room mate was dejected on his father illness back in karachi and unluckliy late at night we got to know that he has Passed Away,Inna Lilla hi Wa Elahie Rajioon..
May Allah SWT rest his soul in peace, then we arranged for his departure at earliest to attend funeral,More over he is oldest son..Hu Hooo,Very Sad,jany waly ko roka b nahi ja sakta,is haqeeqat ko jutlaya b nahi ja sakta ,per ye dard be bardashaat kia ja sakta hy agar koi apna paas hota tou,

Pardesioo k khushi k din tou yun khatam hoty hain jesy shadi k function se khana,or ghaam k din sheetan ki aanth ki tara lamby ho jaty hain ..khair ye catharsis choreye and lets come to the point

tou baat ho rahi thi k UAE main job k chances kia hain...first of all you need to under stand the following:
  • the working experience in UAE/Gulf will not be accepted any where in the world not even in Pakistan until the company for which you will be working is registered internationally, like Big Four,Some International Bank like Standard Chartered, and any other company like that
  • UAE is good place to earn money ,not professional experience that needed to be the part of Resume, but no doubt it will make you understand some other expsoures, like living in abroad while feeling not far from home, will be able to make good contacts, personal and professional but both of them will be based on common interest, interest khatam to relation khatam..fact hy ji fact hy :) :)
  • How to survive when you will be put thrown back?
  • How to fight with good or bad?
  • Money hy tou bad b good ho jaye ga,nahi hy tou good b bad lagta hy :)
  • UAE market is a trading based market, companies having billions of B/S value will be having their office in just one apartment size
  • Employer is your master and you need to follow him like a slave
  • No vacation for nothing :) dont worry aadi ho jata hy banda ...akely rehny se acha hota hy office chala jaye
  • very expensive but afford able by evry one
  • very diverse lifestyle, depends on your earnings and saving habits
  • weather is hot ,always hot, main ne jan,feb main b AC band nahi kia :)
  • Infrastructure is awesome but nothing is natural, not even grass and tree, every thing is imported,
  • very saltish water, normally logo ki tind isi waja se hoty hy..
  • will find good cinemas, bars, discos, whores what ever you want, these are the only things that are cheaper than in region including liquors
  • visiting other gulf region countries is easier once you get good profession visa of UAE,your entrance will be free like in Qatar,Oman,Kuwait ,Bahrian etc,
  • Nature loving people will find them selves very hard to accommodate initially because very less rains,no natural greenary etc
  • Don't waste your money on trying to get driving license, untill u spend at least 2 or 3 years.
  • wesy b its not good ethicall to drive your own car when public transport facility is much better
  • having said that, having license means additional expenses:in form car loan installement, some time fines because of accidents, over speeding, wrong parking and many others like that,
  • move freely in buses,on foot,on cycles, taxis ,what ever is in your capacity
  • Enjoy at peak, its ur right if u r staying away from home, family and your family is happy at your cost then you shud enjy what u want ,i have discussed some things ealrier :)
  • for moving around...can consult www.rta.ae ,local transport authority website, having bus routes, timing, metro locations even every thing u need to move aroufd in UAE.
  • for more information on general things can visit www.dubaifaqs.com
  • mak eyour habit to go through the main page of www.gulfnews.com

Regulations in the UAE are complicated and subject to change. Check with your local UAE Embassy or travel agent prior to leaving to be sure.

There are several different types of visa available. The most commonly used are Visit visas, tourist visas and residency visas for ex-pats.

Visit Visa: Visit visas valid for 30 days will cost Dh500. This cannot be renewed. A person wishing to stay for an extended period must obtain a visit visa valid for 90 days that costs Dh1,000.

Citizens of the certain countries (listed in the next paragraph) can get a 30-day visit visa free of charge upon arrival, entitling them to stay for 60 days: Britain, France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Portugal, Ireland, Greece, Cyprus, Finland, Malta, Spain, Monaco, Vatican, Iceland, Andorra, San Marino, Liechtenstein, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

After this period a visitor can extend the visit visa by a further two months by leaving the country and returning. This can be done twice. When the third visit visa expires the person must leave the UAE for at least a month before returning.

For residents of other countries, the visa must be sponsored by an individual, such as a relative, or an establishment. The application is submitted by the sponsor with all required documents.
